Project Description

United Patients Group

Fast Growth, Cannabis

Challenge

By strategically addressing key community members through strategic, small-scale informative settings and quietly building a coalition, KCG successfully shifted initial public resistance into groundswell support. Thanks to a successful communications game plan, the Crestwood Behavioral Health Center in downtown Kingsburg is currently on track to be finished in 2017.

Approach

KCG worked with United Patients Group to forge a robust strategic communications plan that maximized brand profile and leveraged inter-industry contacts. KCG produced a steady drumbeat of press outreach for ongoing business operations that built industry-wide awareness of the group’s national presence. Additionally, by marshalling a detailed operations calendar and organizing specific outreach to target markets well ahead of time, KCG helped United Patients Group plan proactively to take advantage of new business opportunities both nationally and locally.

Results

KCG played an integral role in putting a spotlight on UPG’s breakthrough achievements in cannabis – including the first medical cannabis course at a public university in the nation, as well as leading the national conversation on medical cannabis by spearheading a bi-partisan congressional briefing on Capitol Hill. United Patients Group today is known nationally as one of the most respected patient advocacy and medical cannabis education groups in the country.
